Chinese Pop Diva, Faye Wong, Creates Foundation

Pop Diva, Faye Wong and her film star husband, Li Yapeng, have created a foundation to help children born with cleft palates.

The foundation is called Nian Ran Angel Foundation, after their five-month old daughter, who was born with the deformity but recovered after plastic surgery.

According to Chinese government statistics, some 2.4 million children are born with cleft palates.

Now, those kids, under 14, have a champion for their cause.

It is understandable that ’stars’ will become more sensitive once they face this sort of challenge themselves. But, why does it have to be that way? Why can’t people, in general, be more sensitive without having to endure a trial such as this themselves?

Still, to their credit, Wong and Li have donated one million yuan ($125,000) to start the foundation.

There will be a lot of happy children and parents if they can receive enough of this aid to correct the problem in their youngsters.

What do you think?

I don’t think it matters why someone gets interested in a cause. It just matters that they are doing something about it. :)
