Chinese Overseas Tourists Hits 124 million in 2006

Chinese National Tourism Administration reported that about 124 million overseas tourists entered China last year.
That is more than the population of Japan….the equivalent of 2 out of every five Americans…that's a lot of people.
Almost 50 million of them spent the night.
Most importantly to China, foreign exchange earnings from tourism reached $33.5 billion.
The World Tourism Organization says China is the fourth most visited country in the world and earns the sixth most from foreign exchange.
France is number one.
Spain is number two.
The U.S. is number three.
