Chinese Bloggers Must Give Real Name
The Internet Society of China has confirmed that China is thinking about requiring bloggers to give their real names.
The reason – "The past understanding of privacy is too absolute. Not only China, but also the whole world, should realize the necessity of balancing individual privacy and public and national interests," says the board of directors of the ISC.
Netizens will be required to submit their real name and ID card numbers when they register a blog or a BBS.
The secretary general of the group chimed in, "Free speech on the Internet does not include talking nonsense and not taking responsibility. Bad symptoms will be curbed."

An online poll at sohu.com revealed 70% of netizens think the idea will prove fruitless in stopping online crimes.
Besides, they say, it's just a few who steal others identities, gossip, slander, lie and such, eh?
