Chinese Blogger Population = One-third Technorati Total

Submitted by Bill Belew on Sunday, 8 October 2006No Comment

The last time I checked Technorati reported about 55 million registered blogs. Some of them, of course, are written by Chinese.

The Internet Society of China reported that by August of this year the Chinese blog population alone had reached 17.5 million.

According to the 2006 Chinese Bloggers Investigation Report this number is more than 30 times the 2002 figure.

Active among Chinese bloggers is defined as updated at least once a month. Less than 45% of Chinese bloggers fall into the active ranks. Once a month? How about several times a week for active?

The report goes on to say that blog aggregated readership is about 75 million, with almost 75% being updated monthly.

I guess it is time for me to do some serious Chinese study if I really want to reach that group OR…I could try to teach all of the Chinese Internet users how to read/write English.

Hmmm…both seem to be quite formidable. How to reach the Chinese….

What do you think is the best way?
