Chinese Billionaire Pays $330K for Truffle

A Chinese billionaire casino mogul from Macau paid $330,000 for some fungus – white truffle – that was dug up in Tuscany, Italy.

There must be a reason the guy wants the stuff that is "derived from bolts of lightning that fell close to the trees. In actual fact, they grow spontaneously only under certain trees, in particular oaks, willows, limes, poplars and cherry trees."

I thought it was a big piece of chocolate.

Shows to go you what I know.

The truffle weighed 1.497 kilograms (3.3lbs)

A hunter and his trusty dog, Rocco, dug it up in a town about 25 miles outside Pisa.

Proceeds from the auction helped sufferers of genetic diseases, a group helping street children in London and Catholic charities in Macau.

Ah…a donation for the fungus.

What's the most money you ever gave away?
