China’s ‘Tiger Woods’
The Dragon has its own version of a tiger.
China's Liang Wenchong became the first Chinese golfer to earn $1,000,000 million dollars on the Asian Tour, making him the "Tiger Woods" of China.
Actually, the only thing they have in common is that they are top money earners in their home countries. But, Tiger is the top money earner in the world.
Liang took second place in the Maekyong Open in South Korea and pocketed $80,645, and raising his career tally to $1.02 million.![]()
Another Chinese player, Zhang Lianwei, is just $672 short of the million mark.
With over a billion people to tap into, you would think that China would eventually produce a top golfer. Heck, China should be able to produce a top anything.
Why do you think it took China so long to come up with a top golfer?
