China’s Food Exports Unsafe -It’s the 1% that we worry about
A senior official of the China's food export quality watchdog said today in Beijing that 99% of China's exported food is safe.
Now…does that make everyone feel better?
If the country exports 100 million tons of rice…only 1 million tons is unsafe.
The official says the Chinese government is very responsible and supervises each step of the process in food exports.
Yup… 200 thousand tons of fish each day and only two tons of it is bad.
Only one in 100 cans of dog food are bad and chances are your kitten cat will only eat bad food every three months or so.
Feel better now?
Beijing has a five year plan to tighten the supervision of food and drugs to "significantly reduce the number of incidents caused by substandard food or drug products" by 2010."
I think I will wait till 2010 before I buy any more food from China.
How about you?
