China Launches Real-Name Blog Site
BLSHE is China's first real-name blog site. Bloggers can only publish blogs and comments using their real names.
The target audience are Chinese intellectuals and aims to be an online platform for communication, social contact and businss.
New users can only use the blog site by invitation from the web owner, by introduction or through introduction with valid proof.
After a successful background and identity check, a new user is good to go.
China has about 20.8 million bloggers, 3.15 million of whom are considered active according to the China Internet Survey Report 2007.
In the one month test run at www.blshe.com (try saying that out loud and tell me what it reminds you of) 2,000 people from academic, media, education and business circles, and freelancers have registered….none with pseudonyms.
I think I will give it a try.
