China Informs US of DPRK Nuke Test

Submitted by Bill Belew on Wednesday, 11 October 2006No Comment

China and the DPRK are friends, kind of. DPRK really doesn’t have any friends so China just kind of looks out for them.

The DPRK told China it was going to test its nuke 20 minutes before it happened. China immediately relayed the information to the US.

The Americans seem happy to have China on their side for once. It doesn’t often happen. For whatever reason, China somehow seems to befriend whoever opposes America just for leverage purpose if nothing else.

This time, however, China has resolutely opposed the DPRK. China does NOT want an arms race in the region anymore than anyone else.

Russia lost the arms race and destroyed their economy in the process. China may think they can do no better.

Bush is expected to ask China to restrict trade with the DPRK and take steps to ensure that North Korea does not export its bomb capability.

The US, China, South Korea, Russia and Japan ‘affirm their commitment to a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula."

The DPRK has seriously upset the status quo in the PanAsian region. China and the US are key to setting them straight.
