China Announces another Nuclear Power Plant
The China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) is planning to launch a 1 million kilowatt nuclear power plant project in Zhejiang Povince.
A feasibility study for a nuke power plant that size is under investigation:
1. Saftey analysis of plant location
2. Environmental impact.
CNNC manager says it will take six years and about $25 million to design the project.
China has a goal of having 40 million kilowatts of nuclear power at its disposal by 2020.
This plant alone will get them 2.5% of the way there.
Is it safe to have one nuclear power plant capable of producing that much power?
I hope we don't find out the hard way.
What do you think?
