China Announces 4th Gateway Airport
When visitors fly to China now, they must fly through Beijing, Shanghai or Guangzhou. Only those three cities offer visa-on-arrival service.
After that, you can head out whereever.
As part of China's 11th five year plan through 2010, a fourth gateway airport has been announced.![]()
Visitors from Southeast Asia, South Asia and Europe will be able to fly into Kunming, the capital of Yunan Province.
The cost for the airport – 23 billion yuan (#2.94 billion).
That cost will be covered in visa fees at the airport.
More and more people are finding China to be a desirable tourist destination. Kunming will be happy to let them in. It's good for their economy.
