Cat and Dog Fur Used to Line Garments Made In China – Chinese Ambassador

Submitted by Bill Belew on Thursday, 30 November 2006No Comment

How's those new gloves feel?

Do you want to get that something for someone who has everything?

How about a pair of gloves, boots or just a scarf made with cat or dog fur?

"A spokesperson for the Chinese ambassador in London told the BBC News, 'Though cats and dogs are not endangered, we do not encourage the ill treatment of cats and dogs.  But, anyway, the fur trade mostly feeds markets in the U.S. and Europe.  Most of this fur is not for the Chinese market. So the Americans and Europeans should accept the blame.  We have no plans to clamp down on this internally that I am aware of. It is for the U.S. and Europeans to take their own action.  They should boycott fur as a fashion material.'"

I am not an animal activist, nor am I an animal cruelist.

I do not, however, want to see Heath or Fido skinned, alive, so that I can keep my paws warm.

How about you?
