Bush’s Meeting with Dalai Lama Called “Gross Interference”

Submitted by Bill Belew on Thursday, 18 October 2007No Comment

China was furious with US President Bush when he met with the Dalai Lama calling the meeting a "gross interference" in its internal affairs.

China is strongly resentful –

China resolutely opposes –

China wants the US to stop interfering –

China says the US seriously violated the norms of international relations

Bush and the Dalai Lama's meetings were the first public appearance for a sitting president but Bush's third meeting with him since he took office.

China says the Dalai Lama is a political refugee engaged in secessionist activities under the camouflage of religion.

China says interfering with internal affairs using the Dalai Lama are doomed to failure.

China's resolve to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity is firm and unshakeable.

Gosh…do you think China was unhappy with the meeting?

And that goes for Taiwan, too!!!
