Border Crossings reach 318 million in 2006

More than the population of the United States. 318 people went in and out of China last year…up 5.4% from the year before.

4.45 million passports were stamped by China's exit-entry administration.

More than 17 million mainland residents entered/exited Hong Kong, presumably to shop, and Macau, most likely to gamble.

I wonder if the finger on the little man with the counter got tired of all those button pushes.border.crossing.jpg

Of course, when you have 1.3 billion people to work with, and everyone and their brother wanting a piece of the business pie in China, and can't be that hard to the turnstiles 300 million times.

What do you think?
