Beijing’s Great Wheel of China

Submitted by admin on Tuesday, 6 November 2007No Comment

China has got to be number one in everything….including Ferris Wheels – enter the Great Wheel of China.

Beijing's Great Wheel of China will stand 208 meters (682ft) tall…that's about 2.3 football fields.

The giant wheel is supposed to be finished in 2009.

It will have 48 air conditioned observation capsules and if you line up now, I mean today, you might get to ride on it in 2016.

Can you imagine umpteen million people lined up to take a turn at something that

will only allow 48 small people groups at a time?great.wheel.china.jpg

I once rode on a Ferris wheel which at the time was the world's tallest.

It took Tamie and me more than an hour to make it around.

Imagine sitting in a ferris wheel that spins at the speed of a minute hand on a clock.

Fun?

Okay, now imagine being on one the size of two football fields spinning faster.

Yeah, that would be fun.
