Beijing 2008 Games Water Cube Opens to Media

Boy, I wish I could be in Beijing now.

Beijing has unveiled the National Aquatics Center – the Water Cube.

It looks like a giant, well, water cube. Not ice cube. Kind of like Moses made the four corners of the Red Sea stand against itself…like a giant blue jello square.water-cube-2.jpg

I am partial to pool venues. My son is jr. college national champion in swimming – toot toot (that's me, blowing my own horn.)

Beijing has 45 Olympic venues under construction – 25 competition venues, 15 training venues and 5 Olympic-related projects.

For updates on building progress, visit here.

Beijing is going great guns for the 2008 games. Sooner or later, the bills will come due. Paying those will be a competition of another sort.
