Bear and Dragon Team Up for Arctic Ocean Exploitation
The China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) is planning to go in cohoots with Rosneft and Gazprom to exploit oil and gas fields in the Arctic Ocean.
CNPC will provide the funds and equipment in exchange for the oil and gas…if/when found…until, it's discovered and Russia changes its mind.
Rosneft and Gazprom will hold the exploit licenses.
I don't want to see the Dragon and the Bear fight. I don't want to see anyone fight for that matter.
But, it seems to me if something were to break out between the Dragon and the Bear it would be something like when Japanese companies spent so much money getting oil out of Sakhalin and then Russia refused to sell it to them.
If something like this were to happen in the Arctic ocean…China spends the money and in the end Russia says, "We'll take it from here." it wouldn't be pretty.
Meanwhile, a bunch of Greenpeacers are freezing their keesters off waiting for the two countries to come up north.
Do you think a war could break out over rights to energy resources?
