Baidu Launches Blog Search Engine Service

Submitted by Bill Belew on Saturday, 9 December 2006No Comment

Just days after Baidu announced that there were almost 20 million bloggers in China, the largest search engine in China, 62% market share, has decided it wants to be able to search those 20 million blogs to find out what is there.baidu.jpg

The search service is for blogs only.

China's 19.87 million bloggers, up 24% from last year, have produced 52.6 million blogs. Is that blogs or posts? I don't know.

There are 1,460 blog service providers.

Qzone has the most, followed by Sina.com, MSN spaces and Sohu.com.

And now…Baidu, can tell Chinese readers what is where and how much there is of it, plus who is saying what about it.

To paraphrase Technorati…there are 19.87 million bloggers, some of them have to be good.

What do you think?
