All Asia is needed to back a bid by Australia to host the World Cup in 2018 says AFC President Mohamed Bin Hammam.

Anyway, Asia hosted the World Cup in 2002 – Japan and Korea together.

If China doesn't want it in 2018, then how about Australia?

Do I smell another Australia vs China bid?

China has not formally expressed interest. Australia has.

China, however, is much more central to Asia than Australia.

The decision will not be made until 2011 and bidding is open until 2009.

England, Belgium and Netherlands, Mexico and the US would like to host the World Cup in 2018.

I'd like to still be alive in 2018.
