7 Reasons Why China’s Tourism Industry is Riding High
The China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) expects the tourism industry to grow by at least 10% for the next five years.
The World Tourism Organization predicts China will be the destination of choice by 2020.
Tourism revenues already account for more than 6% of China's GDP.
So…how come?
1. Development of the economy has increased the amount of disposable income
for Chinese
2. Newly opened destinations – Australia is now open to ALL Chinese, not just a select few. 10 countries in Africa became approved destinations.
3. Economy hotels, motels and youth hostels are growing.
4. Economy airlines, Spring Airline, Air China, are making travel more affordable.
5. The Beijing games are coming.
6. The World Expo in Shanghai is coming.
7. World famous hotels are increasing their investments in China
In short, Chinese have more money, it's more affordable now, and there are more options for destinations.
