57,168 Traffic Deaths in 9 months

Every 7 minutes someone in China dies in a traffic accident.

Every 2 minutes someone is involved in a traffic accident.

Both numbers are down, 13% and 15.8% respectively from last year.

The accidents have caused an economic loss of $113 million, also down from last year by 13.4%.

Last year, 89,455 people died – think everybody at the OSU – Michigan game not making it home.

More than 430,000 people were injured, costing the economy (this number surprised me that someone would even calculate it) about $200 million.

"The car hit you! Now look how much the economy is going to suffer."

Last year China had about 50 million private cars, up 15% from the previous year. There are more private cars this year.

I once saw a poster of a football game stadium filled with fans.

Beneath it was written -

This many people died in traffic accidents last year.

My friend commented – How did they get them all at the game at the same time?
