50 Complaint Centers Established to protect IPR
Last year, complaint centers were set up in 50 Chinese cities for the purpose of reporting intellectual property infringements.
The Ministry of Commerce says the centers are important to get the public involved in IPR protection.
As of November, more than 24,000 leads were received.
One of the duties of the centers is to advice foreign-invested companies on intellectual property law.
The Ministry says they will expand the network nationwide this year and try to encourage even more participation.
How do you say tattle tail in Chinese? Or squealer?
To report commute lane violators in Houston, you call 713-HERO. Makes you feel good to report someone.
Perhaps China needs to find a way to for people to feel good about themselves when they turn in an IPR thief.
Still…any attempt to combat IPR violations is good…as long as the attempts continue and grow until IPR theft is brought under control.
What do you think?
