The Chinese spent 3.2 trillion yuan ($410 billion) during the "May Day" golden week from May 1-23…up 15.5% over last year.
First – commodity sales were up – Liquid crystal display (LCD), TV sets, fashion, air-conditioner, jewelries, digital cameras, and seasonable fashion dresses.
Second – the consumption of "Health" and "Learning"
Third – eating out, fruit picking and living in farmer's home, experiencing the natural and harmonious life on the farm.
Fourth – traditional and typical catering business (think weddings and family feasts).
Fifth – daily essentials.
And all $410 billion spent within 3 weeks.
