4 findings on Chinese Happiness and Stress going into 2007
The Social Survey Institute of China conducted a survey.
Compared to 2005, the survey found that Chinese are more satisified with their health and living standards heading in to 2007.
1. 58% of Chinese were pleased with their intellectual life – up 14.5%.
2. 77.4% were satisified with family interactions – up 13.3%
3. 46.1% were dissatisfied with consumption levels – up just 0.8%.
4. Public satisfaction with social harmony dropped to 22.2% from 30.9% – more pressure to keep up with the Wangs.
It seems that the happier someone gets, the more money they have to pursue that happiness with and the better they get along…the more apt they are to see how the neighbors are doing as well and, well, want to do it better resulting in stress, no?
