2,000 Scalpers Arrested – 1,000 Gangs Busted

China is heading into its peak travel season. More than 156 million train tickets (Chinese preferred method of travel) are expected to bought/sold/used for travel during the coming Lunar New Year Holiday.

Chinese police have already arrested 2,000 train ticket scalpers and busted up 1,000 gangs that are making and selling counterfeit tickets.

Already…47,430 tickets, valued at 5.64 million yuan have been confiscated by 50,000 policemen deployed to railway stations.

The travel season runs from Feb. 3rd to Mar 14th and the Ministry of Railways pledged to NOT raise ticket prices during the period as had been done in the past.scalper.jpg

Fake tickets go for 7-10 times their face value. That should give them away right there.

Have you ever purchased a ticket from a scalper?

Can't say that I have.
