The 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is just two weeks away.

It is scheduled to convene on October 15th as "a congress of great importance to be held at a time when China's reform and development have entered a crucial stage."

China's premier said the country is "building socialism with distinctive Chinese features."

The congress is expected to make arrangements for:

1. overall advancement of China's reform

2. China's opening up

3. socialist modernization drive

4. advancement of Party building

Premier Wen pointed out that China will become a:

1. prosperous,

2. democratic,

3. culturally advanced

4. harmonious modern socialist country

Hong Kong and Macao will continue to get cooperation from the central goverment.

Taiwan will not.

So….is the communist party still in charge in China, or has capitalism already taken over?
