When You Need Hope – the Children’s Wall in Reykjavik
I came upon a couple of recent images of recent Chinese college grads looking for jobs.
I thought to myself, good grief. Where will all these new workers fit in?
I read that America is in a recession and the unemployment rate is expected to climb/peak at 7.5%.
What’s more, Japan’s economy has sunk into a recession as well, having contracted by an annualized 3.7%.
Isn’t this fun news?
Is there any good news, hope for the world, that sort of thing?
Indeed there is.
How about a wall of children?
This wall of children in Reykjavik consists of some 500 portrait photos put together by local artists.
The project took about a year.
Yeah, when I see the glimmer in a child’s eyes, I know there is hope for tomorrow.
Now suppose we were to create a wall of all the 3-6-year old children in the countryside of China? Now, that would indeed be a Great Wall of China. And, in it, we’d find a whole lot of hope, too.
How about we all resolve to clean up our mess, economic and otherwise, so that our children can indeed enjoy a bright future?
