‘Quantum of Solace’ breaks box office records – Review & Trailer
James Bond 007’s
highly-anticipated action-packed “Quantum Of Solace” has broken UK box-office records. The movie raked in 4.9 million pounds in ticket sales on its opening day and shattered the previous record for a Friday opening held by “Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire”, which took 4 million pounds, reports www.dailymail.co.uk.
Quantum Of Solace opens with a car chase through the streets of Siena in Italy, culminating in a pursuit over the rooftops. This is closely followed by a fist-fight, a high-speed boat chase and an aerial dogfight. So far, so Bond.

But this is the first 007 film where the gorgeous girl doesn’t strip off and succumb to Bond’s charms. Surely he can’t be losing his sex appeal?
Quantum Of Solace continues where Casino Royale left off. Following the death of Vesper Lynd, Bond (Craig) joins M (Judi Dench) to interrogate Mr White (Jesper Christensen), part of a secret organisation responsible for his beloved’s demise.
They end up in Haiti, where Bond meets the enigmatic Camille (Olga Kurylenko), a woman out for revenge against ruthless businessman Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric) and his associate, exiled General Medrano (Joaquin Cosio).
Greene and his allies plan to sweep Medrano back into power, overthrowing an entire Latin American regime, in exchange for a seemingly worthless piece of desert.
As Bond edges closer to discovering the identities of the men responsible for Vesper’s death, he takes justice into his own bloody hands.
Alongside all the inevitable kiss-kiss, bang-bang, this movie’s Bond is a decidedly downbeat and moody man, on his own emotional journey.
And, once again, Dame Judi dominates her scenes. Overall, an enjoyable trip to the cinema.
