Stump Wins the Westminster Dog Show 2009

The 133rd annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show where 170 breeds and varieties competed for top dog ended on Tuesday night with “Stump” the Sussex Spaniel winning the best in show.

At the age of 10, a Sussex spaniel called Stump became the show winner at America’s top canine competition, Stump came out of retirement last week and took the big prize Tuesday night.

The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is a two day benched conformation show which takes place at the Madison Square Garden in New York City every year.Dog owners from around the world come to show their dogs, this show is considered by many as America’s most prestigious dog show.

“It was miraculous,” expert handler Scott Sommer said.

“He hasn’t slowed down a bit,” expert handler Scott Sommer said. “I thought it would be fun.”
