oil psu strike today despite High Court Orders
Despite the Delhi High Court orders the strike of Around 45,000 employees of 14 PSU oil companies in India has begun from today, these employees will strike work indefinitely from January 7 demanding that 78.2% dearness allowance (DA) be merged with their basic salary as on Jan 1st, 2007., Association of Scientific & Technical Officer’s, Vice President, P K Sharma said reporters here today.The officers of 14 PSUs including ONGC, BPCL, HPCL, GAIL, OIL, Balmer and Lawrie and Cochin Refinery are also participating in the strike.
“It’s do or die this time. We are only being offered verbal assurances,” OSOA President Amit Kumar said. “All offshore activities will stop 6 a.m. Wednesday onward and the cooling of refineries will start from Tuesday evening itself,” he said.
On a query on wheather Aviation services will be affected , petroleum secretary R S Pandey informed reporters that operations at a majority of the refineries were unlikely to be affected . “Aviation services will be fully on,” he said
