The black and white photo showed up at an auction and went for $91,000, more than 20 times the expected price of $3,000-4,000.
The buyer? A Chinese art collector. Signs of the times? Even Chinese have money to burn.
The photo was taken by Michel Cornte in 1993 and became part of a German collection of Gert Elfering.
