Yao Ming is getting opinions and opinions. First, second, third, tenth.
You'd think he was choosing a mate, a college major, a car, where to go on vacation, who to make a $1 million gift to.
Everybody is weighing in on the giant from the second floor, at the top of a step ladder, sitting in a top tree branch.
Yao is deciding whether or not he should have surgery to repair a stress fracture in his left foot. Does he want to a doctor to put the screws to him or have him walk about with a foot cast on that a third grade class could fit in.
Either way, Yao won't be able to help the Rockets continue their 14 game winning streak, though they have won two more since he broke his foot.
The question the Chinese are asking will the four months he needs to recover fit between March (3) and August (8). 8-3=5. Whew! Just barely. But, what about practice and conditioning and play remembering?
Time for some serious Chinese traditional medicine, some hocus pocus, some needle work and elsewise. Otherwise, the Chinese will be watching stars from other countries walk all over their bball players on their home court.
