Last year, 165,000 pickup trucks were sold. Great Wall Motor Co. Ltd led the way with 50,000 units sold.
That's 165,000 people who have a head start on being a 'rich' Chinese redneck over people who don't have any yet.
Redneck, er, pickup sales in other countries in terms of percentage:

2. Thailand - 65%
3. Philippines - 34%
4. Malaysia - 14%
5. China - just 5%.
Still, 5% of auto buyers in China being pickup truck drivers is an awful lot of toothless wonders.
