一 yi 日 ri 不 bu 见 jian 如 ru 隔 ge 三 san 秋 qiu  One day without seeing you is like missing you for three autumns.

The words come from a poem which exaggerate the powerful emotions a lover feels toward the object of his affections.

It is now used as an analogy to express overwhelming desire and yearing for not only someone but something.
