人 ren 之 zhi 将 jiang 死 si 其 qi 言 yan 也 ye 善 shan - A dying man's words are good words.
A student of Confucius who was on his death bead gave advice to a doctor who seemed to care too little about life, his manners and his speech.
The doctor heeded the dying man's words to shape up.
The proverb came to mean that the advice given by a man on his death bed are usually made with good intentions and will benefit the receiver.
Wouldn't it be great if we did NOT have to wait to learn life's lessons until we hear them from someone who is dying?
