Satellite Navigation Beidou Used to Monitor Beijing 2008 Olympic Games

by admin on December 9th, 2007

China's home made satellitle navigation system will be used to guide traffic and monitor sporting events during the Beijing 2008 Summer Games.

The Compass Navigation Satellite System will supposedly help alleviate traffic problems by telling drivers where they are stuck in traffic.

It's called Beidou, the Chinese word for compass.

The system can pinpoint precise locations and give drivers real-time traffic conditions.

But, once you are stuck, you are stuck.

Beidou is made up of a cluster of five satellites launched from May 2003-April 2007.

More satellites are going up next year before the Games begin.

will be the purpose of the controllable stars.

Do you think satellite systems can really help to avoid crowded traffic conditions?
