China Asks Japan, “More rice, please.”

by admin on December 5th, 2007

China wants 150 more tons of Japanese rice.

Japan already sent rice to China - 24 tons of it.

Beijing and Shanghai stores sold the stuff at a price 20 times higher than rice produced locally.

It still sold out. Poof! Gone!

China wants more and before next March.

Tokyo says it will take immediate action to lift import bans on:

1. Chinese pumpkins and

2. Chinese artiodactyl meat products.

And artiodactyl animal is a hoofed animal with an even number of toes. Indeed, I had to look it up.japanese.rice.chinese.jpg

The two sides are also working on quarantine and inspection techniques.

Next up, Japan will import frozen raw poultry meat from China.

And the Chinese and Japanese relations go hhmmmm….

What do you think Japan needs most from China?

China needs from Japan?
