South Koreans Number 50 Million

The population of South Korea hit 50,000,000 for the first time.

The ROK is the 24th largest country by population.

If the DPRK is included, the number climbs to 73 million and makes a unified Korea number 18 on the world stage.

There are 24.6 million males and 24.5 million females, 624,377 foreigners and 268,845 have not registered correctly.

Korea was founded in 1948.

Though Korea is one of 194 nations, the country has 1.1% of the world's total population of abt 6.6 billion.

Korea grew from 30 million to 40 million in 15 years. It took 23 years to grow the next 10 million.

Half of all Koreans live in Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi province.

The number of people 19 or older is about 75.8%.
