Samsung Electronics will launch a touch-screen, full Internet-browsing mobile phone in hopes of occupying Korea's domestic smartphone market before the Apple iPhone arrives.
Samsung will sell the M4650 ``Multi-touch Phone'' via LG Telecom.
The handset:
1. has a 2.8-inch LCD screen
2. the screen doubles as a keypad
3. the screen is smaller than iPhone's 3.5-inch display and is used with a stylus pen.
Touch phones are considered high-end and people use them to listen to music,
check e-mails and for casual web surfing.
Some even think the smartphone may become the PC of the next generation.
