Japan’s Market Too Tough for Korea’s Samsung

by admin on November 12th, 2007

Samsung Electronics Co. has called it quits when it comes to selling consumer electronics in Japan.

The company dtopped selling flat panel TVs and other electronic goods saying it can't make enough money and it is has been unable to crack the Japanese market.

Japan's Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Sony Corp. and Sharp Corp are too tough to compete with.

Samsung won't sell, LCD TVs, DVD players or MP3 players online either.

Instead, Samsung will concentrate on its business-to-business sales.

The company will also continue to sell mobile handsets to Japan's Softbank Corp.samsung.japan.jpg

Samsung's retail and Internet sales made up less than 1% of the company's total sales in Japan.

Even Samsung quits Japan, it doesn't seem to me it will effect the company's bottom very line.

There are other markets in the world that will buy Korean products.

Do you have anything made in Korea?
