China Magazines Growing in Numbers, Titles
At a forum covering the development of science and technology magazines and periodicals in the country it was reported that China published 9,468 magazine titles which, in turn, generated Y17 billion yuan ($2.2 billion) in total revenue.
The number was up 82 magazines over last year.
Of those 9,400+, 5,068 titles were for natural sciences and engineering.
Advertising revenues were about Y3 billion, more than 10 times
what it was 10 years ago.
China has 150+ million online. However, there are still more than 1 billion who prefer to or must still read magazines.
Mags are dead?
