The bead toys, Aqua Dots, Bindeez, that five American and Australian children swallowed and fell sick over was confirmed to have contained a toxic substance.
The toys were outsourced by a Hong-Kong based company to another company, Wangqi Product Factory in Shenzhen.
"The toymaker had used the toxic chemical 1,4-Butylene glycol as a softener in the production process and that the end products contained 14.5 percent of the toxic substance."
If swallowed the chemical simulates gamma hydroxyl butyrate,
breathing problems,
loss of consciousness,
seizures,
drowsiness,
coma
death
Spending too much time in Las Vegas will cause that to happen as well.
The packaging contained warnings that swallowing is dangerous and the toy was not suitable for children under 3. But, Americans will eat anything...and they learn it when they are little.
In Australia, the Bindeez were named 2007 Toy of the Year.
If the proper chemical, pentanediol, is used, the cost goes up 3-4 times.
Hmmm...it's always about the money.
Do you worry more about the toys your children play with?

No wonder they use that drug, what a big difference in cost! But why is it called date-rape-drug? Was it the original/intended usage for that drug??!!
What is the usage of this drug in the toy? Can the toy function without that?
