Chinese car makers will know when they are reaching the big time.
Dongfeng Motor Company had a national recall of 3,154 sedans because of a production flaw that might cause brake fluid leakage.
Models SYLPHY, TIIDA, TEANA and LIVINA manufactured between Sept. 7 and Sept. 21 are being recalled.
Customers are being notified by mail and phone calls. Customers can also call their dealers.
Dongfeng Motor Corporation was established in cooperation with Nissan Motors in 2003.![]()
Also known as DFL, it was China's first joint venture in motor vehicles.
Four years ago sales hit 60,000 units. The company expects to sell five times that number this year.
Market share has grown from 2.6% in 2004 to 5.88% now.
With more recalls....DFL can expect market share to shrink.
Just ask Nissan.
Have you ever driven a Dongfeng car?
