Catering Industry Expects $2.7 billion Windfall

by BBelew57 on October 27th, 2007

The Olympics are causing a boost in the number of tourists to Beijing.

Next year will be particularly big…and the catering industry is dancing in the hutongs.

The Beijing Olympics are expected to bring about Y20 billion ($2.7 billion) in business to country's catering industry says the China Cuisine Association.

Nearly 300,000 athletes, referees and news reporters from around the world will descend on China's capital for the Games in 2008.

"Oriental food" - Chinese, Japanese and Korean food will make up 30% of the dishes served…unlike 10-20% from previous Games.2008.games.beijing.jpg

In 2008 Beijing expects:

1. 5 million overseas tourists

2. 120 million domestic travelers…that's the entire country of Japan…even the little people.

Not only the catering industry will benefit from the Games.

How can you make money from the Games?
