by BBelew57 on October 19th, 2007

Beijing needs to spend more money on the Olympic Games than thought.

The yuan has appreciated more.

Security will cost more than expected.

Consequently, Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee has increased their budget by 25% to $2 billion, up from $1.6 billion but still less than the $2.4 billion spent on the 2004 Athens Games.
