Olympic Torch Won’t Pass Through Taiwan
The Olympic Torch for the Beijing 2008 Games will NOT pass through Taiwan says Beijing officials.
Taiwainese and Beijing officials reached a dead end as to the route.
The negotiations have been ongoing for 5 months…since Beijing Organizing Committee proposed to place the island of Taiwan next to the Chinese territory of Hong Kong.
With no conclusion reached by the September 20th deadline….Taiwan is out of the prestigious relay route.
It's the local guy on the streets of Taiwan because of the business that s/he will
NOT get that loses in these negotiations…not to mention the opportunity for a little bit of friendly exchange between the renegade island and the main land.
The little guy loses in these negotiations. Most of the rest of the world has no clue about the differences.
What do you think?
