“Lust, Caution”, “The Warlords”, “The Sun Also Rises” bid for Oscar
Three Chinese films will be bidding for an Oscar.
They are:
"Lust, Caution,"
"The Warlords"
"The Sun Also Rises"
"Lust, Caution," critics say, has the best option because of Ang Lee's directorial talent. A second win for best foreign language film?
The Warlords," starring Andy Lau and Jet Li, is under final production and will be
screened for seven days at the end of September, just in time to to meet Oscar requirements. 
"The Sun Also Rises," also boasts a stellar cast, including Joan Chen, Anthony Wong and Jaycee Chan.
Other Asian competition include:
South Korea's "Milyang," or "Secret Sunshine."
This year a shortlist of films will be chosen by a Los Angele-based screening committee and that shortlist will be screened by a second committee to draw up a final list of nominations for the Academy.
The winner? Gets a little gold man and life goes on pretty much as usual AND I know which film I will NOT want to see.
