1 Million Yuan Job for Worm Inventor
Surely all virus, worm inventors will be encouraged to walk the straight and narrow now.
A network company in eastern China has offered a job paying 1 million yuan ($130K) a year to the man who invented the most destructive computer virus ever in China.
The job is his! As soon as he gets out of prison four years from now.
The man created the worm.whboy, or "panda burning joss sticks."
Jushu Technology Co.wants the 25-year old to be its technology director so that he will have a good platform to show his talents.
The panda worm infected over a million computers countrywide and caused huge losses.
The young man said he created the virus over discontent at his failure to land a job.
"Computer owners learned that their systems were infected when their executable file icons turned into images of pandas with burning joss sticks."
The man profited from his creation when he created a cyber bug that can prevent infected computers from operating anti-virus software and all programs using the "exe" suffix.
I guess crime does pay after all….in four years.
