World Wars Demoted in Beijing

by BBelew57 on August 30th, 2007

Some 65,000 high-school students in Beijing will no longer be required to learn the history of World Wars as education.

They will need to know what Japan did PRIOR to the wars in Nanjing or the north east, but not the role that the World Wars had in forming our political boundaries in the 21st century.

The 'World Wars' will among six electives.

The textbooks will be divided into topics - politics, economics, culture, rather than studying history chronologically.world.wars.jpg

Schools are considering making art or science students study about the World Wars.

Chinese students must pick one of two subjects - art of science - when sitting for the college entrance exams.

Japanese kids are already unaware that Japan went to war with the United States or committed atrocities in China and South Korea.

What events in history, recent or otherwise, do you consider must study for students everywhere?
