Lenovo Negotiating to Buy Packard Bell

Lenovo Group Ltd. is negotiating with an unidentified third party to buy Packard Bell.

If successful, Lenovo by way of Packard Bell will gain a 10% market share in Europe.

The owner of Packard Bell, John Hui, says Lenovo has exclusive negotiation rights to a controlling stake in the company.

Why can't the company buy up another PC maker? And, then another and another?

If you can't beat them, buy them.

I am sure somebody said that somewhere, sometime.
